Life is a Spiritual Struggle
I found this first article very moving. I thought it was great how the teacher uses his fighting skills to relate to his students and use what he knows to teach them. Even though his students are "at risk", he does not see them any differently compared to other people which I think is a good teaching strategy to have.
Admittance to a Better Life
I found this story interesting because of the way the teacher also uses his past experiences as being an "at risk" student. The teacher is now able teach his students from his past experiences and really relate to his at risk students. I feel that students learn better when the can relate their own lives to the subject or teacher.
This I Believe
I thought this article was very true when the author talked about how being "smart" is not just knowing all the facts, but using that information wisely and usefully. I also feel that being smart and educated does not mean being book smart, but having good common sense and use it wisely in life.
